Providing winter clothing for local children in need
Warm the Children
Warm the Children is a national program that we administer in the Gowanda, Cattaraugus-Little Valley and Pine Valley School Districts. School nurses identify children who need winter clothing and send us an application. We pair the family with a volunteer shopper who meets them at Walmart. The children then pick out a coat and boots that fit them. The separate Warm the Children account pays for these items.
In the 2021-2022 school year, we assisted over 48 children and spent over $4,000. We expect to help even more this year. Donations are gratefully accepted. Please make checks payable to Warm the Children and send them to 15 W Main St, Gowanda, NY 14070.
